Snow change…

Due to the sudden influx of snow, Winter Tanners, my planned 30-mile event this Sunday (a challenge event organised by the Long Distance Walking Association, LDWA), was cancelled for the first time since 1982 – it wasn’t going to be possible for vehicles to take people & supplies to the checkpoints.

Instead, I ran 30 snowy miles in the Beckenham/Croydon area, initially wearing Stabilicers over my VivoBraefoot Neos, while there was just a little snow over the compacted snow/ice, and later, after a quick visit home, trail Neos which were great in the deepening snow.

Today, a further 10 miles, partly in the local park and finishing on the treadmill, which was easier on my left posterior tibial tendon – which really wasn’t happy after yesterday’s exertions.

Tapering from now to Thames Trot 50.
